Five years ago, I found myself in a place I never imagined I’d be—broken, overwhelmed, and consumed by darkness. Life had thrown challenge after challenge my way. I felt undervalued at work, endured discrimination, suffered the heartbreak of losing a child, and wrestled with a sense of unhappiness that seemed impossible to shake. The weight of it all pushed me to the brink, and I found myself questioning my worth and my purpose.
In my despair, I attempted to take my own life. It was a moment that could have been the end—but it wasn’t. Even in that darkness, God had other plans for me. When I cried out to Him, asking for forgiveness and help, I heard a voice—a voice I believe was God—urging me to seek help. That voice saved my life.
What followed was a season of healing. I sought the care I desperately needed, spending time in the hospital and a mental health facility. It was during this time that I began to see life through a new lens. I realized that even in brokenness, there’s beauty. Even in pain, there’s purpose.
One night, as I prayed for direction, I asked God for a sign—a way to take my story and turn it into something meaningful. I asked Him for a name, and what He gave me was Anayas, which means “God has answered.” At that moment, I knew I was called to create something that would help others, something that would inspire women to embrace their beauty, their strength, and their God-given purpose.
Anayas Beauty Bar isn’t just a business; it’s a movement. It’s a reflection of my journey from darkness to light, from despair to hope.
